About Shivsrushti

History reckons Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as one of the bravest, most progressive, sensitive and yet sensible rulers of India. Born on 19th February, 1630 in the prestigious Shivneri Fort, Shivaji established his name in Indian history with his administrative skills by upholding the Swarajya values and the Maratha heritage. He was known for his bravery and tactics with which he won numerous wars against the Mughals. It was not after Lord Shiva that he was named but a regional Goddess Shivai whom his mother prayed to.

 

A skilled warrior, an able administrator, a secular ruler, a supporter and protector of women and their rights, there can be endless ways to introduce this historical icon. He represented the true consciousness and embodiment of a hero as described in old Indian epics. He yet continues to inspire youth across the boundaries of states and nation and we at Shivsrushti are making a small attempt to take his greatness to every corner of the world as a true tribute to his memory.
